The key-note speaker for the EACS-2016 is Academician Vladimir S. Myasnikov (Moscow, Russian Academy of Sciences), who will deliver a lecture on the history of Chinese Studies in Russia.
Vladimir S. Myasnikov (born May 15, 1931 in Moscow) is an outstanding Russian sinologist, orientalist, historian and expert in Russian-Chinese relations, the history of foreign policy, diplomacy, and historical biography. Prof. Myasnikov is a Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician and Advisor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the directorate of the RAS Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences, a member of the Bureau of the RAS Historical and Philological Studies Department, chairman of the editorial board of the RAS general academic series “Scientific Heritage”, author of over 600 published scientific papers, books and monographs. Published in December 2014, his major seven-volume work «Castalian Spring for Sinologist» became the winner in the HUMANITAS category at the Book of the Year national contest.
